Thank you so much for a wonderful and relaxing stay. Breakfast was AMAZING! every morning. I really appreciated all the local foods she incorporated. I won't soon forget the roasted grapefruit!! Can't wait to come back and visit the Brownsville House and town again.

We had the great pleasure of staying at the Brownsville House for three nights while in the area for business. While we did not get to spend enough time at the house as we wanted, when we were there we were treated like good friends with warm hospitality and amazing food. We were even served a delicious Mojito in the garden one evening. We look forward to returning soon for another stay when we have time to settle in, relax and explore the area further. Thank you Cyndi and Bob!

The Brownsville House is charming, and Bob and Cyndi are consummate hosts. From their amazing breakfasts (I have multiple allergies, and they accommodated them all deliciously) to treating guests to cocktails in the garden, they know exactly the right amount of attention and hospitality to provide to make your stay exceptional!

You are the best breakfast cook in America! Thanks for a stellar stay and an absolutely charming environment, and also a fabulous comfy bed, not to mention your romantic gardens. What a treat!

What an incredible treat! Everything Cyndi and Bob offer, from 5 star food, to charming and comfortable bedrooms, to the front porch swing, to BB the cat; all are extra-ordinarily welcoming and perfect! I grew up in Brownsville and was home for a family wedding event. The warmth and comforts we received were the perfect respite after long days and evenings of wedding preparation. We sincerely and gratefully THANK YOU!! I can't wait to come back!

Among the best parts of an overall remarkably fun experience was the Breakfast with Brownsville guest program that Cyndi offers. We chose our two locals from her varied list and enjoyed them tremendously. We had never before stayed at a B and B that offered this getting acquainted opportunity with the community. Thank you, Cyndi and Bob, and thanks to these volunteer representatives of the community.

We recently had the pleasure of staying with Cyndi & Bob in their historic and comfortable home and will always treasure the time spent enjoying their hospitality. We were looking for accommodations for friends visiting from California, where we could all relax and enjoy graduation weekend for our daughter at OSU. We ended feeling we had spent the weekend in a friends home! The strawberry bread, scones, and homemade sausage topped all the wonderful food - presented in such an elegant fashion! Enjoying the gardens to sit and visit, the comfortable bedrooms and sitting areas was a joy. We felt so well taken care of and hope to return again soon!

My husband, Al, and I had the pleasure of staying with Cyndi and Bob on Saturday night. We arrived early evening and were treated to sherry and incredibly delicious muffins with cream cheese spread. Cyndi also provided us with coffee and tea. Our accommodations were lovely and very comfortable. We really like the layout of the upstairs rooms plus the full use of living room/parlor and bathroom with claw foot tub downstairs. Breakfast was beyond anyone's expectations!! We have stayed in many B&Bs;and I can promise you that you will experience a full gourmet breakfast at The Brownsville House!! And, then Cyndi sent scones home with us. This is a truly amazing and interesting couple and a wonderful B& you must add to your bucket list. And one to which we will return many times!

We have stayed with Cyndi and Bob twice now. We will be back for sure. We love staying in B&Bs;and have done so all over the US and Europe. The Brownsville House is our favorite. It just feels like home. From the front porch swing, the incredibly comfortable bed to the outstanding breakfast feast. Cyndi is a great cook and both she and Bob are warm and welcoming. I think the key is that they love what they are doing. They just seem happy and they like to make others happy. There is great attention to detail and Cyndi thinks of everything...late afternoon snacks, lovely soaps, and thin mints in the TV room!

We spent the 3 day weekend of the Country Music Festival this last weekend and what a bonus. A wonderful old house & the best hosts. We enjoyed our visits with Cyndi & Bob each day before heading out to the Festival. And breakfast prepared by both Cyndi & Bob was like eating in a fine restaurant. Much was from their garden & eggs from their chickens. Soooo yummy! We highly recommend The Brownsville House. You will be glad you stayed there.

My family stayed at The Brownsville House last weekend because my son got married at Atavista Farm in Brownsville on Saturday. I love the house. If you are going to a wedding at Atavista Farm, I recommend that you immediately reserve this house. We made our reservation a year ago. When you open the door and look into the front room, you enter a fantasy land of dark wood and comfortable furnishings. The walls and tables are covered with fascinating and fanciful pictures and objects. Everything works and fits together because someone, probably Cyndi, has wonderful taste. Our 19 year old daughter and two of our grown up nieces stayed with us at the Brownsville House. However, there was plenty of space for all of us in the three bedrooms, two large bathrooms (including a clawfoot tub and a large shower), the large living room downstairs, the front porch (with its old-fashioned swing) and the beautiful cottage garden surrounding the house. Everything is clean and comfortable. There are books for guests to read and DVD’s to look at. On the first night, my husband munched on the freshly baked cookies left for us as he sampled a complementary drink from the small refrigerator in one of the bedrooms upstairs. The next day we had to leave early to pick up the wedding cake in Corvallis and transport it to Atavista Farm. Despite the early hour, our hosts had prepared coffee and wonderful homemade power muffins to speed us on our way. When we returned, a magnificent breakfast awaited us in the dining room including the best scones I have ever eaten, homemade sausage, a corn frittata, a berry parfait and more. After breakfast we walked a few blocks to the downtown area where we shopped for antiques, visited the pioneer museum and attended the monthly antique and car show and chicken swap. Uneaten scones and muffins go on the table for munching during the day. After our walk, we got ready for the wedding. It was a hot day, but the house has air conditioning!! One of our friends stopped by to change for the wedding, sampled a scone and persuaded our hostess to write out the recipe for her. The next day our breakfast was wonderful again, featuring homemade ricotta in pancakes that were light and fluffy and unlike any that I have ever tasted, with an amazing variety of toppings, bacon, and broiled grapefruit covered with a blueberry liquor. As we ate, a flock of local turkeys sauntered through the garden looking for breakfast too. None of us wanted to leave and go home. We are already thinking of reasons to go back.

This home is a gem. Cyndi and Bob are wonderful hosts and chefs. Their decorated cottage is charming, made more so with a blend of privacy and attentiveness: Wine, cookies, gourmet coffee, a local guide book with photos of the town's film sites for the movie, "Stand By Me." And a special treat: a local of your choosing to share breakfast and regale you with tales of the area or unique interests or travels. I'm bringing my wife back here. Soon.

The Grasshopper teaches us to be patient and know if and when to leap. But their Grasshopper is still on their Brownsville House hearth and has no intent to leaped away. After a night in the cozy home I did not want to jump either. When comparing this to the other Bed and Breakfast locations, this is the best place to relax. Bob and Cyndi showed true hospitality; something I cannot forget!.

Absolutely fell in love with this place. Bob and Cyndi were amazing. Our 5 year old granddaughter traveled with us and they treated her like their own. Warm, comfortable and unforgetable. Couldn't have found a better B & B to stay at. Hope to get back there soon!!! Thank you Bob & Cyndi for the wonderful memories! Especially Kynslee falling in the duck pond....

We immediately felt at home and relaxed at the Brownsville House. The details and attention given to everything showed such hospitality and thoughtfulness. My only complaint, our stay was just too short! Books, antiques, animals, music, garden, cordial hosts and amazing food, all invited us to stay and just be. Thank you, Bob and Cyndi for a true retreat weekend.

Another weekend, another great visit to the Brownsville House! Quickly becoming our home away from home, Cyndi and Bob Anderson's Brownsville House provides everything one looks for in an weekend escape... and much more. From the the Eden-like grounds in the center of historic Brownsville to the tasty mojitos under the hanging wisteria and the fantastic breakfasts, everything about our stay was perfect. It could not be better! We will be back.

If I am ever anywhere near The Brownsville House again, I won't even consider staying anywhere else! It was very charming and very comfortable, and Cyndi's breakfast was the best I've ever had at a B&B. It was the perfect place for our large family to relax for a night during our whirlwind tour of Oregon!

My husband, daughter (16 yr. old) and I rode our bikes from Salem to Eugene. The Brownsville House B&B was the PERFECT place to stay: Cyndi and Bob are fantastic people, the breakfast is fabulous, and the accommodations are super comfortable. Unlike other B&Bs, you don't share the space with other guests, so it's totally relaxed. We felt lucky to have landed this B&B stay!!

We stayed at the Brownsville house as part of a four-day bicycle trip from Salem to Eugene. Cyndi was a fantastic hostess who provided cookies upon our arrival, beer and wine and sodas for afternoon or evening enjoyment, and a breakfast in her garden that was unbelievably delicious and healthy. The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect for enjoying the small town of Brownsville on foot. I would return there in a heartbeat, and will next time I am in that part of the world.

We enjoyed Brownsville and the Brownsville House was the perfect place to stay there. Cyndi has a great eye for decorating, was a wonderful host, and baked us some delicious cookies shortly after we arrived. Bob's homemade sausage was the capper to the best breakfast I have had at a B&B.

I was thoroughly pleased with my stay at Brownsville House. As a person who tends to over pack in order to bring along the simple comforts of home while traveling, I realized that Cyndi thinks of everything and I could have left half my stuff at home. The rooms, garden and delicious breakfast made our visit to Brownsville just wonderful. There is a perfect balance between privacy and hospitality with every small detail attended to. Highly recommend this B&B!

We couldn't be more pleased! The Brownsville House is easily the best Bed & Breakfast we've ever stayed at. We have already scheduled our next visit. Cyndi and Bob treated us like family, only nicer. :o) Most reviews mention the food and for good reason. It's fantastic! Everything is grown and prepared right on the spot. Best pancakes I've ever eaten! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.

Since returning from our lovely stay at the Brownsville House in December, we have recommended it to several friends and family members. In fact, we're telling people to visit Brownsville simply so they can experience the Brownsville house and Cyndi and Bob's warm hospitality. This was our first real get-away since having kids, and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The breakfasts alone earn the Brownsville House a 5-star rating in our book, but the fact that our hosts anticipated every detail send this charming place right off the charts. Cheers!

Kay and I live in Brownsville and we recently had a baby boy. Our entire family and some friends have visited us over the past few months and they have all stayed at the Brownsville House. We always end up there in the evenings for drinks and conversation with Cindy and Bob and on Sunday mornings for an outrageously good breakfast. Thanks for making everyone feel so welcome! You have a very special place and we feel lucky to have you in our home town.

Just stayed at the brownsville house, I feel like it's my home away from home. Went to visit my son's new baby boy who lives just outside Brownsville. I am so fortunate to know the owners Cyndi and Bob, they are the most wonderful hosts.
I can't wait for my next visit, what a place!

Deb and I had a wonderful stay in late August. We cycled 50+ miles in, on a hot afternoon. The town had a temporary power outage but the light's always on at Brownsville House. Bob and Cyndi are wonderful hosts, and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. We'll be pedaling back soon.

Outstanding!!! We recently stayed at this Bed & Breakfast house and we've never had such a wonderful experience! The house is located within walking distance of town and is a very charming/clean facility. The owners, Cyndi and Bob are such fun people and very accommodating! We can hardly wait until we can go back to stay and totally relax at "The Brownsville House"!

Where to begin. This is hands-down the best place to stay in Brownsville. A friend and I were only able to stay for one night, but it was a comfortable and easy rest for us. The breakfast was magnificent. I was full until dinner! We took advantage of having breakfast with some Brownsville residents to enhance our 'Stand By Me' experience with Linda and Ray McCormick. I highly suggest that anyone staying take advantage of having breakfast with any one of the residents. Brownsville has such an amazing community and this B&B just radiates everything awesome about the town!

I felt at home as soon as I walked through the doors. What a fantastic vibe. I cannot wait to go back :)

We loved our too brief stay at Brownsville. The house is gorgeous and extremely comfortable - silky sheets, thirsty towels, and the most delicious & bountiful breakfast imaginable! Although we arrived in some distress, Cyndi, Bob and the beautiful Bella Margaret were gracious and made us feel welcome and very well cared for. We hope to return under better circumstances someday.

This was the vacation I'd been needing. Bob & Cyndi made us feel like part of the family. Brownsville has peace, quiet, and the best breakfast if you stay in the right place ;)

We can't wait to come back with more friends for an annual retreat! Thank you again!

We loved our sojourn in your lovely world. The photos on this web site say it all, but they cannot totally convey the spirit of welcome and respite we found at The Brownsville House. From the moment we came through the gate we knew we were in a special place.

It's hard to isolate just one superlative, but if I had to to it I would mention the attention to small details. You rock. I also noticed the support and community inclusion everywhere, from the locally made soaps, locally roasted coffee and the resource materials you provide about the rich history of the area. The opportunity to invite local Brownsville folks to breakfast is fantastic. We so enjoyed meeting Mandy, and we had a great conversation at breakfast.

I cannot ring off without mentioning the food.
Over. The. Top. This is a drop dead gorgeous meal, with every bite an adventure. Just like the pictures. All this and gourmet food too....the best B&B breakfast I can remember, produced nearly 100% from the garden and neighbors' efforts. Spectacular.

Bravo. I challenge anyone reading this to outbook me in 2011.

Thanks so much,
Deb Hartman

Hi Cynde and Bob,
We loved our stay in your lovely home. We both enjoyed meeting and talking with you. The breakfast was fantastic, over the top. The food was way beyond our expectations. We also loved meeting the pop artist. As we rode out of town we stopped by the shop for a look at John's work. That was a treat too.

We would love to see you guys again. Look us up when you come to Portland. The PSU Alumni Exhibit runs from November 2nd through the 24th. The opening is Saturday, November 6th from 6-9 pm. Let us know when you are coming and we can get together, either for the exhibit or something else. Cynthia says hi and to tell you that she loves the soap.

I talked to our daughter Ruth about our trip. She wants to do one with us sometime so we may be back!
Thanks for a memorable experience.

We just got home from our trip to Oregon. We biked the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway from Portland to Eugene. We stayed at four Bed and Breakfasts along the way. This was by far our FAVORITE! Loved the house, Cindy and Bob, the pets and the food was to die for. The washer and dryer available to us was perfect. We are planning our trip for next year so we can visit you guys again! After having a wonderful brunch to help test the breakfast offerings for The Brownsville House, I would suggest you come and stay here for the food for sure. The lemon pancakes were my favorite! The rooms are warm and cozy too. This is no ordinary bed and breakfast...this is magical.
